Using the File Manager – Geometry View
The Geometry Manager displays the complete list of configured geometries within the system. You must create a geometry file for each measuring system. You can also create separate files for the same geometry if, for instance, you wish to use different gap values or other settings. See Configuring a New Geometry for details. Within the Geometry Manager, you can perform other functions that are available through the pop-up menu.
To access the Geometry Manager, select the Geometries pane from the File Manager to view a list of all available geometries. To edit an existing geometry, select Edit
in the Geometries pane to open the current geometry information.
Creating a New Geometry
Select New from the Experiment tab > Geometry toolbar, or right-click from within the File Manager and select New Geometry. The New Geometry wizard displays. Follow the prompts to set up a new geometry file. See Configuring a New Geometry for details.
Viewing or Modifying a Saved Geometry
Once a geometry file is created, you can view and modify its parameters.
-
Open the Geometry Manager as described above.
- Double-click on the desired geometry. Alternatively, right-click on the geometry and select View from the pop-up menu. The document containing the parameters for the selected geometry displays.
- Make the desired changes and close the document.
- NOTE: The geometry name will not automatically change based on modified parameters (e.g., changes to the dimensions).
Deleting a Geometry
- With the Geometry Manager open, right-click within the manager and select the geometry to be deleted.
- Right-click on the geometry and select Delete from the pop-up menu to delete the selected file(s).
Selecting an Installed Geometry
- Select the installed geometry from the list of available options from the Geometry list on the Experimenttab. The list shows all the geometry files previously created on this system. It is recommended to create a geometry file for each geometry/environmental controller configuration (for example, separate files for 25 mm Parallel Plate with FCO and 25 mm Parallel Plate with Peltier Plate).
- If the desired geometry isn’t available in the list, access the Geometry Wizard through the Geometry Manager to Configure a New Geometry. Select the appropriate geometry when physically installing a new geometry on the rheometer.
- The geometry selected on the Experimenttab is the current geometry and will automatically be specified when creating/configuring a new experiment.
- If you wish to view selected geometries parameters, select Geometry on the Experimenttab. Editing a geometry must be done via the File Manager. You can select the Geometry Manager to both access all the geometry files created and edit their parameters.
